A critical component of the Improving Outcomes for Children initiative is involving members of the communities in which the family lives in helping to ensure the safety, well-being and permanency of children. Turning Points has established two Community Advisory Boards (CAB), one for each CUA region, to provide oversight and advice in implementing child abuse prevention and foster care services. Each CAB is comprised of a representative group of people from the neighborhoods (individuals, community groups and businesses) who meet regularly to review our progress and identify resources that will help the families and communities we serve. Advisory Board members are selected to advise the CUA regarding the programs and services it offers as well as communicate the issues, concerns, and special needs of the communities they represent – and ways to resolve them.
